April 2009
What a wonderful
time we have had, Jim & Pauline you have been thoughtful and attentive to
our needs-including clothing for my husband due to lost baggage! Your home
is lovely, we have been most comfortable and warm with the fireplace going
every night. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we lost track of time
--thinking and wishing we had one more day. Off to Paris we go and the
serenity and peacefulness of here will be only a warm memory. My mother was
comfortable-so nice to have spacious rooms and comfortable surroundings.

Our stay at 'The Old Walnut Mill' has been very enjoyable. The
weather has been a bit damp and dreary but did not stop
us visiting the surrounding sites, Tours, Amboise,
Chenonceau, Azay le Rideau etc. We also spent a day
around Barrou looking round the local chateau (La Guerch).
We ended the visit with lunch at the 'Cafe de la Poste'
-- 4 courses + wine- 11 euros--what a bargain!

For me, Emlyn, the trip to the Loire Valley was very special
,almost exactly 50 years after I had first planned to
visit on a school trip from England. Obviously to travel
widely and see the towns and chateaux etc is very time
consuming but what we did see was memorable. We hope the
next guests enjoy their visit as much as we did.

The Old Walnut Mill is quite the house, large, spacious
and comfortable. As others have observed this house has
the feeling of a genuine home-not just another rental
unit. We appreciate all the thoughtful touches.... that
made it really feel like home. Memorable! 'Vive le petit
chateau' in Grande Rue!
